A very pleasant entry-level bourbon for new bourbon consumers, this aligns a little bit more with Scotch in that there are more citrus zest notes, and less toasted white oak and toffee notes. Light butterscotch, caramel apple, orange zest, light char and resin, this offers a fine balance between wood, spice providing an enjoyable dram. It’s a little hot on the mid palate but finishes fairly lengthy. It is a combination of four-year old and seven year old straight bourbon whiskies and though not impressive for seasoned brown spirits drinkers, it does provide a lighter style, one that certainly has an audience. 90
