You may think of Mezcal as being sort of a one note tune, focused on smoke character and not much else. Here’s a bottle that will change your mind about that. The smoke is here, but it appears a subtle complement rather than an in your face statement, allowing the agave and spice tones to speak clearly. Notes of ginger and cinnamon linger through a long finish, and the viscous feel gives everything a big push. This is a fine sipper and will add a creamy note to citrus driven cocktails.
