Blue Note Crossroads is itself at a sort of crossroads – it’s bourbon, therefore a little sweet, but it’s not as aggressive as many other bourbons. It’s a little lighter in style, with less obvious oak influence. This is due to its less than four year aging process. Distilled in Memphis, then finished in Tennessee, they claim the Memphis blues over the Tennessee country. Crossroads offers brown sugar, candied almond, resin, light notes of apricot, honeysuckle and lemon zest. It fills the palate nicely and finishes well with lingering browned butter, resin and brown sugar. Made from 70% corn, with 21% rye and 9% malted barley, it presents as a solid bourbon whiskey. 92
