Bib & Tucker Bourbon Whiskey ($47)

The term “bib and tucker” originally referred to your best attire, Sunday meeting clothes, for example. That this sourced bourbon’s labeling alludes to it being the finest is not exactly accurate. It’s a solid bourbon, but on a crowded shelf, there are better, more interesting choices. A soft and lithe viscosity leads into burnt caramel, browned butter, resin, orange clove, five spice and tangerine zest. There is a maturity in the mid-palate that pulls down the bright citrus notes and fills the mouth with darker notes of caramel and typical wood influences. Aged six years, there is little that stands out with this bourbon that makes it memorable, though it’s certainly worth picking up a bottle.  91
