This bourbon packs heat from the beginning. Though nearly 59% alcohol, there is still a balanced approach whereby all components complement each other. That is a unique attribute, and you’ll find darker more mature notes of sweet oak, apricot and citrus zest, caramel, honeysuckle, resin and dark toffee. It holds the flavors together quite well in the mid palate, extending to the finish. The heat is indeed noticeable, but the sweeter tones come out here a little stronger as well. Most high proof bourbons lack anything distinctive, but Weldon Mills excels at bourbons of this type. A Platinum Award winner at the 2023 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge. 94
