With nearly 200 years of experience behind them, Courvoisier Cognacs are worth every penny, and this VSOP is a great example of quality at a fair price. A lovely melding of fruit, wood, spice and floral notes, the palate is strongly vanilla, with ginger spice, jasmine and dark chocolate notes from the wood along with a light nuttiness and resin. The spiciness of pepper is evident, as are the floral notes of violets and roses. There are also fruit notes of strawberry, pear, red berries and apple. The flavors fill the palate, creating a nice lengthy finish. Aged a minimum of four years, this VSOP is a skillfully crafted blend of Fins Bois, Grande, and Petite Champagnes. The result is a wonderful Cognac where the quality exceeds the price. A Platinum Award winner at the 2023 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition. 95
