Vodka. My first reaction when tasting a vodka is often “now why wouldn’t someone finish the job here and make gin out of this?” Then I’m reminded that certain people (and perhaps as importantly certain cocktails) don’t find benefit in the complexities that a great gin has to offer. This vodka repeatedly rises to the top in blind tastings for its impeccable balance, textured palate and delightfully neutral profile. It’s a tasty drink on its own, even at room temperature, and it’s ready to cocktail at a price that will allow you to experiment with more expensive complementary components. Great stuff, and a great value to boot, and a Platinum Award winner at the 2023 Sommelier Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition. 95
