This avoids the single biggest problem in the realm of spirits substitutes by not trying to be a substitute for a spirit that already exists in the marketplace. When tasting spirit stand-ins, I often find that I’m saying something like “this alcohol free gin would be fine if I added some gin to it.” This is something else entirely. Feragaia is clearly the result of intrepid alchemists trying myriad recipes until landing on something tasty. Mission accomplished with a blend of cayenne, blackcurrent leaf, kaffir lime, chamomile, lemon verbena, ancho chili, green tea, apple, and hibiscus extracts that comes off complex, layered and completely unique.
