Stone Castle is a winery located in the Republic of Kosovo which started in 1953, and in addition to producing some very good wines, they also have a few spirits, all of which are sourced from the grapes on their property. Grape spirits with natural flavors on the label is a little vague – this is really an au de vie with a tad of grape flavoring in it, an un-aged brandy, if you will. There is an initial, but light sweetness, and the grape is noticeable, but not overpowering. As it weaves through the palate you come across light floral notes, an herbaceous quality, citrus, and a whisper of cool minty-ness. There is a nice balance with the various elements and the lack of oak influence doesn’t really detract from a very pleasant brandy. 92
