High wheat rye (here 65% rye and 35% wheat) is a bit of an oddity, but it may not be for much longer after this example finds wider recognition. It’s all about clean, light texture that carries deep flavor. The nose is wildly attractive, with zippy spice and caramelized sugar drawing you in, then hitting your palate with brightness, and flavor with almost no viscosity. It’s packing heat to be sure, but the whole exceeds the sum of the parts beautifully. In addition, the lack of viscosity makes this very useful in cocktails. A find! 98
