Though this is a four year aged Bourbon, it tasted like one with more barrel age. The distillery suspects that a combination of careful temperature control of the barrels and near constant vibration from frequent nearby freight trains likely plays a role. Caramel/toffee aromas are very attractive, and the palate has a nice bite, delivering the nose elements and adding bright Rye spice. The finish is well integrated , and though the label indicates a sweet mash, there’s no cloying or overtly corny character here, but rather a lithe texture and purity of spirit. Well done! 93
