Though Ireland is more closely associated with whisky, gin has been produced there since the 1790s. This offers a creamy entry with mint, resin, lemon and a light sweetness. The mid palate opens up these flavors more robustly and the gunpowder tea – similar to an Earl Grey or oolong – announces itself along with coriander and star anise. This is a lively gin and perfect to sip neat. They use four vapor-distilled botanicals and eight botanicals are added to the copper still, then four vapor distilled botanicals area added to the vapor basket. The result is an excellent gin with comprehensive and distinct flavors that reveals itself over time.
