Cierto Tequila’s have been winning awards and winning new customers with rapidity. Though pricey, they are amazing. Pure spicy agave and light caramel fills the nose. As it hits the palate you realize this is a balanced Añejo that allows the agave to be a focal point, whereas the aging supports the whole. This is also incredibly smooth and the earthy agave, resin, caramel, vanilla give way to orange aromas, coffee notes, chocolate and caramel flavors. Aged 18 months in French Limousin oak (a looser grained wood that allows for more absorption) the success of this Añejo is that by showcasing the essential blue agave notes, you retain what tequila is. Most Añejo literally smothers the agave in favor of oak aging, but Cierto celebrates it. A Platinum Award winner at the 2023 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition. 94
