Full disclosure –I’m a blanco guy when it comes to Tequila. In general, I find that the wood tones that come with the barrel aged designations are easy to overdue, robbing the spirit of its purity and liveliness. I’m pleased to report that I am fully behind this Extra Añejo precisely because it avoids this issue entirely. Everything I love about tequila is here in full force, and that citrusy, earthy character is only enhanced by soft notes of vanilla and subtle oak char. This is aimed squarely at the luxury market, and it hits the bullseye. A sublime sipper! A Platinum Award winner at the 2021 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition.
