As an entry-level Cognac, Maison Park does a very good job. This is a young Cognac, not an ultra aged iteration. Lots of resin dominates this with additional light floral tones and a touch of pepper spice. There are also soft notes of apricot, sugared almond, muted butterscotch with a touch of fresh herbs. As all Cognacs should be, this is fairly layered, though not as comprehensive as more expensive Cognacs. Park does an admirable job of conveying what’s unique to Cognac, namely four very specific flavor profiles found in every iteration: wood, fruit, floral and spice, and providing that for a price that most anyone could afford. 91
