This bottling has scored once again, taking a Platinum Award with a score of 95 at the 2024 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge. I reviewed it back in July of 2021, and on retesting, my text, along with my slightly higher personal score, still ring true. Cognac at its finest is about textural richness, depth of aroma and flavor and persistence of sensory stimulation. That’s exactly what is delivered here, with aromas of spiced plum, toasted almond, toffee and a dash of nutmeg that translate beautifully on the palate, with no one element shouting for attention. The finish pushes flavor for an extended period, all mellowed and satifying. To top things off, it’s a great bargain at its quality level. Bravo! Also designated Spirit of the Year and a Platinum Award winner at the 2021 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition.
