This bottling keeps crossing my desk as a top competition performer, taking a Platinum Award with a score of 94 at the 2025 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge after scoring big at the 2024 event as well. I reviewed it back in July of 2021, and on retesting, my text, along with my slightly higher personal score, still ring true. Cognac at its finest is about textural richness, depth of aroma and flavor and persistence of sensory stimulation. That’s exactly what is delivered here, with aromas of spiced plum, toasted almond, toffee and a dash of nutmeg that translate beautifully on the palate, with no one element shouting for attention. The finish pushes flavor for an extended period, all mellowed and satifying. To top things off, it’s a great bargain at its quality level. Bravo!
