Glenfiddich has a long history, beginning with their first stills sparingly distilling Whisky in 1887. Today their Scotch Whisky is produced on a massive scale and you can find it everywhere. Their 12-Year-Old Single Malt is a slightly sweeter Scotch compared to others on store shelves. There are notes of resin, light, caramel, and butterscotch, light, peat, and hints of citrus and wildflower honey. This is a very easy drinking Scotch, one that is smoother than many other 12’s. Once the Scotch hits the mid and back palate, it begins to diminish a little, and the finish falls short, but nonetheless it is a comprehensive Scotch that showcases more of an American style rather than traditional Scotland. It is still fairly bright, and balanced matured for a dozen years in Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon casks. That aging does add some complexity. This is a better than average 12 YO, but it lacks a specific defining characteristic. 92
