You may be aware that Tequila has unseated Vodka as the king of spirits when it comes to consumption in the USA, which of course means that everyone wants in on the action, and that gimmickery is not in short supply. Just walk down the Tequila aisle (yes, in some stores its now an entire aisle) and you’ll get the picture. The trick of course is to sort out the gimmicks from the legit products, which is likely why you have visited us here. The Luna Blanco wisely seeks to carve out an unoccupied niche, using just a touch of oak aging to take the edge off the texture while preserving the freshness and flair of a proper Blanco. The mission is accomplished well here, with a dash of vanilla rounding that edge without removing it, leaving the zesty agave and citrus shining brightly. It’s a fine sipper with a long, blossoming, gently heated finish that keeps me coming back. Careful when cocktailing – you may want to dial back other ingredients a tad to let the subtlety speak. 100% Puro Agave with no additives, and beautifully packaged. 92
