A ‘lodestar” is a point in the sky used as a reference point – think Polaris – and it’s an apt moniker here – if more Whiskey was like this in the USA, I’d be a much bigger fan. It’s a blend of high rye and domestic single malt, and it’s artfully brought to balance. No syrup or over sweetness here, just clean, bright grain character that keeps pushing through a lively long finish. While this is great as a soloist, it’ll be fabulous in cocktails for all its brightness. Well done!
