Hailing from Jundai, Brazil, part of the State of Sao Paulo, this gin prides itself on using 21 different botanicals, including six they claim are “seldom found in gin,” basil, rosemary, fennel seed, calamansi (a hybrid lemon-lime citrus cultivated in the Philippines) star anise, and acai. Made from sugar cane, this offers a mix of light sweetness, amber, wintergreen mint, wildflowers. This gin is brighter than expected, with additional notes of citrus and apple butter, and rosemary. Their process uses maceration and vapor infusion, and this is stylistically well made enough that it works on its own, served neat, and certainly with it’s light sweetness would add to any cocktail without the need for adding simple syrup. Well balanced and lightly savory, this will enhance you home bar.
