This beauty comes from the celebrated Cal-Ital winery in Plymouth, California that’s known for its Sangiovese and other Italian varieties including Moscato. This “Water of Life” is distilled by St. George Spirits in the Bay Area, who takes whole Moscato grapes (unlike grappa that is made from grape skins) and turns them into this unaged brandy. It’s delightful, showing mixed tropical fruit spice peach aromas that translate directly to palate flavors with a pleasant funk. It’s delicate and dry enough to use as an aperitivo, and it will also work well as a light digestivo. Bravo! Best White Spirit and a Platinum Award winner at the 2026 Distillers Challenge International Spirits Competition. 95
