The badge on this bottle says “World’s Best Varietal Vodka” which I assume references its potato base. From the isle of Jersey in the English Channel, the potato variety is called Jersey Royal, and I suppose that if any particular piece of produce would show regional terroir, a potato would have a better than average chance of doing so. All that aside, the tipple is quite tasty, showing more than the “no aroma/no flavor” profile that some Vodka drinkers seek. It’s bright, a touch earthy and long on the palate thanks to single distillation that serves to maintain the regional character, if you will. Don’t overchill if serving neat so you can taste the nuance. Best Vodka at the 2024 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition. 94
