Here’s a rum that will blow your mind with aromatic liveliness and complexity. With the glass sitting literally 18 inches from my nose, its scents entice with notes of caramel, vanillin and layered fall spice – sort of an edgy Bananas Foster vibe. On the palate things go bright and breezy as you’d expect a rum to do, but with depth and complexity, even managing to maintain some proper funk through the blending of barrels as old as thirty five years. You can sip this straight, or you could give your Cuba Libre a significant upgrade. It’s great to find a rum of this quality at a price that allows for some cocktail experimentation… Go to it!
