Tennessee’s Stillhouse really excels as a blender, or for someone who is new to American bourbon, this would be a fine introduction. The mash bill includes corn, rye and barley. It’s light enough in style with a hint of sweetness that it doesn’t overwhelm the palate. There are wood and cherry notes, honeysuckle browned butter, and candied nuts and light resin. There’s also a richness to this, even in its color, more cola looking than anything else. The finish is fairly simple and this is not a comprehensive sipper, but it wasn’t intended for that. Additionally, their packaging in stainless steel can is spot on. 89
