The Negroni – a true classic cocktail that should be a no-brainer for RTD producers – gets a true rendering in the offering from Tanqueray. You’d think there would be more good ones out there with the simple 1-1-1 recipe of gin, bitter liqueur and sweet vermouth, but I’ve tasted more weak offerings than I’d care to mention. You can of course batch build Negronis in large quantities at home, confident that the vermouth is preserved by the other two component’s ABV level – I get the sense that this is what Tanqueray has done, adding the road worthy convenience of putting four (or more – they offer different sizes) drinks worth in a bottle. No time to mix? This is a worthy fix.
